Learn about the new rules for buying & selling in real estate.

For many years, Realtors have conducted business in a certain way. But because of recent events, changes are coming in the real estate industry under the mandate of the NAR, particularly with paperwork and administrative procedures.

Signing listing agreements is a common practice in real estate transactions. This agreement gives your real estate agent the right to market and sell your house, protecting you and the Realtor in the process. However, signing a Buyer-Broker Agreement wasn't required until the NAR settlement took place. A Buyer-Broker Agreement ensures that both parties are committed to working together and that the buyer’s interests are represented. This new rule will take effect on August 17 nationwide.

We believe that these changes will make the industry more professional and transparent.

Because these recent changes affect the Tri County area and beaches, we are making the necessary preparations to stay ahead of them. We are conducting a weekly training with our team, talking about how to discuss industry changes at a high level, how to express why they need to sign agreements, what we’re doing to show and provide value to clients, and ultimately, how we can protect the client and the relationship throughout the process.

The new rules are going to be implemented soon. While the situation is still evolving, and many may still be confused, we are committed to providing our clients with the highest level of service. We also believe that these changes will make the industry more professional and transparent.
